Privacy
Your health data stays on your iPhone
Luris runs no servers of its own. Here is what stays on your iPhone, and exactly what can leave it.
Stays on your iPhone
- Everything Luris reads from Apple Health
- Your routes, workouts and progress photos
- Your profile, plan and settings
Your health, activity and location data are never used for ads or analytics. Nothing you record in Luris is sent to the developer or to Google.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, never during a workout or a walk, run or ride in progress. Luris Pro has no ads.
Your consent decides
Usage analytics and crash reports go to Google subject to your consent, and the advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
Purchases through RevenueCat
Apple sells and bills Luris Pro. The purchase service RevenueCat receives a random ID, your iPhone model and your Luris Pro status, never your health or activity data.
Everything that can leave your iPhone
- Your weekly step total, if you join the leaderboard: to Game Center, under your alias
- One location, once, so Apple can tell Luris your country and pick kilometres or miles
- Map requests to Apple Maps while a map is on screen
- What Sign in with Apple needs, if you use it
- A random ID, your iPhone model and your Luris Pro status: to the purchase service RevenueCat, so Luris knows what you have unlocked. Never your health or activity data
- Usage events and crash reports to Google, and ad requests in the free version, subject to your consent and tracking choices. Never your health or activity data
No account needed. Read the full privacy policy, how ads and analytics work, and the consumer health data privacy policy.

Questions
Good to know
More answers, and a direct line to the developer, on the support page.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Luris uses the steps and distance your iPhone records. If you wear an Apple Watch, its steps and activity reach Luris through Apple Health too.
Which iPhones does Luris work on?
Any iPhone with iOS 18.0 or later. There is no iPad or Apple Watch app.
Is Luris free?
Luris is free to download, and steps, your activity history, GPS walks, runs and rides, the leaderboard, challenges, badges and the widget work without paying. The six-week plan and exercise library, custom workouts, progress photos and body charts, and Share Studio are part of Luris Pro, an optional subscription you can cancel at any time.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Sign in with Apple is optional and only used to greet you by name.
Can I track bike rides?
Yes. Start one from Walk, Run & Ride on the Home tab. Luris maps your route with GPS and shows your distance, speed in km/h or mph, and calories, and saves the ride to Apple Health as a cycling workout.
Which languages does Luris speak?
Forty-five: English, Arabic, Bengali, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian, Odia, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese. The 873 exercise names and instructions are in every one of them.
How do I delete my data?
Your data is on your iPhone, and the developer holds no copy. In Luris, open Profile, then Your data, and tap Delete All Data to delete everything the app keeps on your iPhone. Delete All Data does not touch Apple Health: what Luris saved there stays until you delete it in the Health app. Deleting a single session in Luris also removes the workout it saved for that session. The support page shows every step.
